Ilia Chavchavadze & Akaki Tsereteli Pin | Georgian Souvenir
On Rustaveli Avenue, in front of the historic Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium — the very school where Ilia Chavchavadze himself was educated — stands a statue of Georgia's two most celebrated writers: Ilia Chavchavadze and Akaki Tsereteli. Close friends and fellow leaders of Georgia's 19th-century national revival, their writing and public life helped revive the Georgian language and shape a modern national identity.
This enamel pin recreates the statue in miniature, complete with the Georgian flag, as a small tribute to two of the country's most important cultural figures.
